Why have I not written a review for this place baffles me. For the longest time my team would come here after work to grab tacos and vent for our crazy day at the restaurant. I do miss those days of being here at 2 am waiting in the long line of people still keeping the partying going on and on. Though those days seems to be gone, and yes I do miss it. the food has been the same. I still get my tripa and lengua done the way I like it. I am guilty of only knowing how these two meats taste due to getting a plate of these every time. Every time I drive past this place on the weekends and I see the outdoor grill being used I roll down my windows to get a whiff of the beautiful meat cooking away. I hope one day this place is the late night destination that it used to be.

Bottom line: don't judge a book by its cover, friendly and attentive staff, FLAMEY tacos at fair prices. Vibez: located on the outskirts of downtown San Jose on First and Sutter, sits the drive in style building. Admittedly it doesn't look like much on the outside, but don't let it deter you. I don't recall much in the way of music, set up is simple. Tacos: you're here for the food in general, but tacos were great (yes they have taco tuuuueeesdays - 2 dollar tacos of select meat options). A few folks also had dishes with rice and beans, which were also tasty. Accompanied by a variety of salsas, it was simple street style, but probably larger than your average street taco. Meat was flavorful, tortillas fresh, salsa pleasantly spicy. Chips and guac - get it. Fresh guac, slightly salty and citrusy. Chips thin and crispy. Beverages: fair prices, variety of what you want with tacos (I mean beer, tequila, margaritas, chavela, michelada, jarritos)

By far the best Mexican restaurant in San Jose that I have been to! Their food is absolutely amazing and so flavorful. The items we got were Molcajete de Carne ($26.95), Carne en su Jugo ($18.95), Tortas Ahogadas ($15.95), Birria Tacos ($4.25), Flan Casero ($4.95) and Agua Frescas de Horchata and Jamaica ($3.25). What I really enjoyed about this place was that their aguas frescas and tortillas are all handmade, nothing is frozen bought. The service was amazing as well, they are so attentive and friendly. The ambiance is very pleasant and very traditional.

Came back to try more of their menu and I am impressed! Usually only order the basics of tacos and burritos at Mexican restaurants but I decided to step out of my comfort zone & order some authentic dishes I've never had. I absolutely loved their Carne en su Jugo & Molcajete Carne! In combination with their homemade tortillas, it was comfort Mexican food at its best. The Carne en su Jugo was really flavorful & they don't skimp out on the meat at all. It comes with a side of onions, cilantro, jalapeño, lemon, and tortillas. The Molcajete Carne comes out piping hot and absolutely filled to the brim. Once again, extremely generous with their meat. It's served with tortillas, beans, and rice on the side. By far the best thing I had here. Unlike last time, I also decided to dine in this time & got to experience how nice the service was! Gustavo helped us with our order & consistently checked up on us. We felt super welcome! Vibes are cozy too! Will definitely be back again.

Food: I LOVE THE BIRRIA TACOS! This was my first time and I'm glad it was here! It was delicious!! It's $4 each. Looks small, but THERES A LOT OF MEAT!! So you can get filled with 2 tacos!! Also the Carne En Su Jugo at first glance would look okay, but ONCE YOU TASTE AND SMELL IT!! MMMM MMM SOO GOOD! The definition is literally beef soup! Not to mention a lot of the food home made! Like flan and tortillas (i think made with corn flour) Service/Ambiance: This is place really felt traditional with the aesthetic and atmosphere it gave! They're welcoming to everyone! Definitely will come again! And THEY HAVE TACO TUESDAY!! $2 for specific taco each!!

My cousin and I were hungry kinda late on a Friday night . This taqueria is open till 3am on Friday and Saturday nights for only tacos . A man outside was making the tacos fresh to order . We walked in a young lady took our order after paying we took the order ticket to the man outside and he makes your tacos on the spot . They have salsas and other condiments to go with your tacos . They have plenty of seating inside . They also have a pool table outside that is $2 a game . I forgot to mention they only take cash if you don't have any they have a ATM machine inside . The young lady that took our order was very nice and attentive. I seen that they offer happy hour during the week days and a Taco Tuesday deal $1.99 tacos all day on Tuesdays pretty sweet deal . This taco shop definitely hit the spot on a late night hour . We will definitely be back .

What a gem. 3 quesabirria tacos plus free bites consumme is the way to go. Hands down best in San Jose, only wish we had known about this place when we lived down the street. The molcajete and other dishes look incredible too and the service is always quick and outstanding. Child friendly and also open late with regular happy hour specials on beers and chavelas/micheladas. Highly recommend and will keep coming back.

One of my new favorite taco spots!! My friend and I stumbled upon this place one night a few years ago and it took us months to find it again (lol). The man working behind the counter, along with the rest of the staff, were all super nice! He said the birria tacos were their best sellers so we def had to order that. The free chips and salsa were great to snack on. Tacos (al pastor, beef tongue, steak): The meat was soooo good. Like very soft and juicy!! There are $1 tacos for taco Tuesday so I will definitely be back for that. If I remember correctly, I was able to order the corn tortillas! I prefer corn over flour so I was glad to have the option! Steak Quesadilla: huge meat-to-cheese ratio. meat is super tender Birria Tacos & Consome: even bigger meat-to-cheese ratio. Honestly, I like cheese so I would've preferred more cheese to even it out a little bit but it was still good! The serving size for the consome was a little small but I still had a little bit leftover to take home! I added ramen noodles to it and it was good :p Overall, really enjoyed the experience here and the food is great! Will definitely be back
